"Grit and Grain" Photo Book

This is my second photo book. A project during the pandemic. Inspired by my early photographic style, this photo book is entirely black and white images captured on 35mm and 120 film within the last couple years. I hope you enjoy.

When the pandemic hit most photographers ventured out to capture the desolate scenes in otherwise bustling and socially chaotic urban areas. I too participated as quite a large chunk of my work is already cityscapes void of human life. I also found myself reflecting on my early photographic style and gravitated heavily to that again. Focusing on abstract objects and scenes shaped by natural light. Heavy, long shadows balanced with bright bold highlights captured with the simplicity of black and white film often pushed one or two stops to bump up the contrast and accentuate the film grain.
